A private guesthouse within a former vicarage, the historical Dutch wooden house is typical of the 17th-18th century homes within beautiful Broek-in-Waterland, just 10 minutes north of Amsterdam. The decor throughout this is immaculate with extraordinary attention to detail and quality; a bolthole within a bolthole, in fact. There are also options for private dining (expect Michelin-star quality courses and exceptional wines) and is right on the lake so, weather permitting, you can dine alfresco. A rare gem.
(Disclaimer: I know it doesn’t really fall into the criteria of an ‘unusual’ or ‘quirky’ hotel but having visited, it was too good not to share).
